Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is with immense gratitude to God that I present this newsletter for the end of First term 2024/2025 Academic session which began on 8th September, 2024 and ends on 14th December, 2024.

1. ACADEMIC MATTERS 1.1Internal Examination The beginning of term test (BOTT), 1st C.A test, 2nd C.A test and the first term examination were conducted successfully. Hard copies of the first term result will be available for collection on return for second term academic activities. Soft copies of students’ result can be accessed online through the school portal: www.fstcogugu.myskoolportal.com.ng with the students username which can be found on the RRR print out. The general password is cabinet. Please endeavour to change it after log in.

1.2 Information from Krystal Digital

- Log on to the school portal with username and password - Click on “Payment/Bills”, and “Current Bill” to retrieve unique RRR code - Pay safely online or proceed to the bank to make payment with the RRR code - After payment, re-login to the portal with username and password, click on “Payment History” to print the receipt. - Please note, the Central Billing System is the only recognized portal for payment, and as such any RRR code generated from a different platform using any other fee description (e.g REFUND, TENDER) will not be regarded by the school, and as such parents might be asked to pay again. - It is very important that the student’s profile is updated with the correct email address and phone number to allow for easy communication and dissemination of information. 2.EVENTS IN THE TERM The Director Principal’s Inter House Football cup competition was held on 28th September, 2024 with Herbert Macaulay (Red house) defeating Tafawa Balewa (Yellow house) by two(2) goals to nill. The college General PTA meeting was held on 5th October, 2024 10 female students participated in the skill acquisition TVET training for girls held at FSTC Uyo Akwa Ibom State from 6th – 20th November, 2024. 10 students (both boys and girls) participated in 2024 Robotics Zonal competition held between 14th – 17th November, 2024 at FGC Ilorin, Kwara State. 1st term Inter House debate competition was held on 9th November, 2024 with Herbert Macaulay (Red) house emerging the winner.

Payment of school fees is through the Remita platform. 2nd term school fees schedule will be communicated to parents after receiving the ministry official directive. Please note that any payment made in December 2024 will not be valid. Payment of school fees and PTA levy through any of the College staff is prohibited PTA fees should be paid through the bank and the teller submitted at resumption. On no account should parent come with cash for PTA levy at resumption. 5.2ND EDITION OF INTER HOUSE SPORT COMPETITION LEVY

The college wishes to inform parents/guardian of the coming second edition of Inter House sports competition scheduled for 2nd term. In view of this, each student is required to pay an Inter House sports competition levy of N10,000 in cash at resumption for 2nd term to Mr. Onah Peter, Bursary Unit.

6.COLLEGE CLINIC HEALTH ALERT

Parents are advised to treat their children/wards for malaria, typhoid, and deworm them before resumption Parents should endeavour to complete the treatment of their children/ward who are sick and being treated before returning Only Vice Principal Students Affairs and the college Nurse are authorized to call parents in respect of health of their children No student is allowed to keep drugs in the hostel or engage in self medication. All drugs must be kept at the college clinic with the name of the child and the prescription. Students are to resume with treated mosquito nets Parents are advised to talk to their children about maintaining their personal hygiene in school.

7.CARE OF THE COLLEGE PROPERTY

The rate at which the students are damaging the college properties most especially dining tables, classroom desks and tables is alarming. Henceforth, any student who damages any of the school property will be surcharged for repair or replacement and the student(s) will be sent home to fetch the money for the repair or replacement and any other disciplinary measure applicable.

8.VISITING DAY

The college visiting day remains 1st Saturday of every month by 10:00am to 6:00pm. Parents are to maintain cleanliness of the compound by properly disposing off used items in the appropriate places provided by the college.

9.RESUMPTION DAY

Second term 2024/2025 academic session runs from 5th January, 2025 to 11th April 2025. All students must ensure that they return for checking in between the hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm on 5th January 2025. Henceforth, any late resumption will only be attended to the following Friday of the week and will also attract appropriate punishment. NB: All prefects are to resume a day to resumption. 1. ACADEMIC MATTERS 1.1Internal Examination The beginning of term test (BOTT), 1st C.A test, 2nd C.A test and the first term examination were conducted successfully. Hard copies of the first term result will be available for collection on return for second term academic activities. Soft copies of students’ result can be accessed online through the school portal: www.fstcogugu.myskoolportal.com.ng with the students username which can be found on the RRR print out. The general password is cabinet. Please endeavour to change it after log in.

1.2 Information from Krystal Digital

- Log on to the school portal with username and password - Click on “Payment/Bills”, and “Current Bill” to retrieve unique RRR code - Pay safely online or proceed to the bank to make payment with the RRR code - After payment, re-login to the portal with username and password, click on “Payment History” to print the receipt. - Please note, the Central Billing System is the only recognized portal for payment, and as such any RRR code generated from a different platform using any other fee description (e.g REFUND, TENDER) will not be regarded by the school, and as such parents might be asked to pay again. - It is very important that the student’s profile is updated with the correct email address and phone number to allow for easy communication and dissemination of information. 1.3 External examination

No student is allowed to register for external examination (GCE/NECO/SSCE/BECE) while in school. If discovered, such student will be expelled as stipulated by the ministry.

1.5Notebooks Parents are reminded as earlier discussed and agreed in the PTA meeting on 5th October 2024 that for the students to have enough customized college notebooks for all the subjects offered, they are to make an extra payment of N1,000 per student to Mr. Lala, the PTA Secretary.

2.EVENTS IN THE TERM The Director Principal’s Inter House Football cup competition was held on 28th September, 2024 with Herbert Macaulay (Red house) defeating Tafawa Balewa (Yellow house) by two(2) goals to nill. The college General PTA meeting was held on 5th October, 2024 10 female students participated in the skill acquisition TVET training for girls held at FSTC Uyo Akwa Ibom State from 6th – 20th November, 2024. 10 students (both boys and girls) participated in 2024 Robotics Zonal competition held between 14th – 17th November, 2024 at FGC Ilorin, Kwara State. 1st term Inter House debate competition was held on 9th November, 2024 with Herbert Macaulay (Red) house emerging the winner.

3.BOARDING HOUSE REQUIREMENT FOR 2ND TERM 2024/2025 SS2- Detergent 850g, Izal, Dettol 250ml SS1- Detergent 850g, Izal, Dettol JSS3- Detergent 850g, Cobweb broom, Harpic or Hypo JSS2- Detergent 850g, Mop, Dettol JSS1- Detergent 850g, Harpic/Hypo, Izal **Students who are yet to submit materials during first term’s resumption should bring the items at resumption for Second term.

4.SCHOOL FEES AND DUES PAYMENT

Payment of school fees is through the Remita platform. 2nd term school fees schedule will be communicated to parents after receiving the ministry official directive. Please note that any payment made in December 2024 will not be valid. Payment of school fees and PTA levy through any of the College staff is prohibited PTA fees should be paid through the bank and the teller submitted at resumption. On no account should parent come with cash for PTA levy at resumption. 5.2ND EDITION OF INTER HOUSE SPORT COMPETITION LEVY

The college wishes to inform parents/guardian of the coming second edition of Inter House sports competition scheduled for 2nd term. In view of this, each student is required to pay an Inter House sports competition levy of N10,000 in cash at resumption for 2nd term to Mr. Onah Peter, Bursary Unit.

6.COLLEGE CLINIC HEALTH ALERT

Parents are advised to treat their children/wards for malaria, typhoid, and deworm them before resumption Parents should endeavour to complete the treatment of their children/ward who are sick and being treated before returning Only Vice Principal Students Affairs and the college Nurse are authorized to call parents in respect of health of their children No student is allowed to keep drugs in the hostel or engage in self medication. All drugs must be kept at the college clinic with the name of the child and the prescription. Students are to resume with treated mosquito nets Parents are advised to talk to their children about maintaining their personal hygiene in school.

7.CARE OF THE COLLEGE PROPERTY

The rate at which the students are damaging the college properties most especially dining tables, classroom desks and tables is alarming. Henceforth, any student who damages any of the school property will be surcharged for repair or replacement and the student(s) will be sent home to fetch the money for the repair or replacement and any other disciplinary measure applicable.

8.VISITING DAY

The college visiting day remains 1st Saturday of every month by 10:00am to 6:00pm. Parents are to maintain cleanliness of the compound by properly disposing off used items in the appropriate places provided by the college.

9.RESUMPTION DAY

Second term 2024/2025 academic session runs from 5th January, 2025 to 11th April 2025. All students must ensure that they return for checking in between the hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm on 5th January 2025. Henceforth, any late resumption will only be attended to the following Friday of the week and will also attract appropriate punishment. NB: All prefects are to resume a day to resumption.
